Golden Mylk is one of the best ways to fight inflammation, containing large amounts of tumeric, the active ingredient of which (curcumin) is one of nature's best anti-inflammatories.
But most importantly it tastes good to. If you are going to create a new food habit then it has to be delicious. Tumeric on its own has a rather earthy, unaplatable taste but the honey and coconut milk make the perfect accompaniements, combining for a new and wholesome taste.
The black pepper is there to maximise the efficacy and absorption of the curcumin.
The method is simple, just heat the milk in the microwave (do not boil it), stir in the tumeric and black pepper and a squeeze of honey to taste.
Some hipster cafes are now serving it as a healthy alternative to coffee and the wholesome taste of this recipe does really make it a viable alternative.
Even if you don't need to fight inflammation, its a great way to enjoy a good hot drink that doesn't have caffein in it.
P.S. The Olde English term 'Mylk' refers to anything other than dairy milk e.g. coconut, almond, rice etc. All of therse are much better for you, saving your gut the huge task of having to break down lactose.
