The Weed Slice from Burgon and Ball of the UK is revolutionising weeding.
Weedslice was introduced recently by Burgon & Ball of the UK as a useful extra tool in the armoury against weeds.
Its a ‘Push-Pull’ action weeder, which in itself is not revolutionary, but their design makes it extremely efficient which means more gets done for less effort - and that's an attribute I'm very keen on.
Its all in the design of the cutting head - being arrow shaped, the blade cuts easily, just below the surface, then the two wing-ends cut again on the pull stroke.
Without a lot of pressure from the user, the tool glides easily just beneath the surface so there isn't a lot of soil disturbance which can lead to increased moisture evaporation when it does occur. The weeds get literally 'cut off at the knees' regardless of their size - large or small weeds all get summarily executed.
The high level of control this tool offers means that you can use it with confidence in flower borders and tightly planted veggie beds too without fear of damaging healthy plants.
It is also very useful in gravel paths where weeding tends to often have to be done by hand with a lot of stooping.
Burgon & Ball are the top UK garden tool maker. They use the best quality Sheffield Steel and FSC Ash handles - traditional and a pleasure to use.
